Setup

iPhone & iPad – Old Account Removal

  1. Open the Settings App
  2. Select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  3. Under “Accounts” select your old account
  4. Click the red [Delete Account] button
  5. Click the second red [Delate Account] button in the popup

iPhone & iPad – New Account Setup

  1. Open the Settings App
  2. Select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  3. Under “Accounts” select “Add Account…”
  4. Select “Microsoft Exchange”
  5. Enter your Email: jsmith@canaryUSA.com
    Enter your Password: ###
    Enter your Description: Canary
  6. Click [Next] in upper right corner
  7. Enter your Server: m.google.com
    Enter your Username: jsmith@canaryUSA.com
  8. Click [Next] in upper right corner
  9. Click [Save] in upper right corner

* You may also update the device’s signature by scrolling down in the “Mail, Contacts, Calendar” screen.

Android – Old Account Removal

  1. Open the Settings App
  2. Under “Accounts” select “Google”
  3. Select your old account
  4. Click the [Menu] button (normally three vertical dots in upper right hand of screen)
  5. Click [Remove account] button
  6. Click [Remove account] button in the popup window

Android – New Account Setup

  1. Open the Settings App
  2. Under “Accounts” select “Add Account…”
  3. Select “Google”
  4. Click [Existing] account button
  5. Enter your Email: jsmith@canaryUSA.com
    Enter your Password: ###
  6. Click [Next]
  7. Click [Ok] in the popup
  8. Click [Next] in the “Account sign-in successful” screen

This completes the initial setup, however, the device still needs to be authenticated using the “Device Policy” App.

Download & Install Device Policy
  1. Search for “Google Apps Device Policy” on Google Play, and click the Google Apps Device Policy icon.
  2. Click [Install]. Android will ask for confirmation giving a list of permissions needed for the Device Policy application to function.
  3. Click [Install]. When installation is complete, click [Open] to continue.
Setup Android’s Device Policy
  1. Press the install notification or app icon to open the app. If you have multiple Google Apps accounts, select the account you want to set up. The Introduction screen gives an overview of what the app does. Click [Next].
  2. If you already have your Google Apps account set up on the phone, select to set up Device Policy with your account. Click [OK].
  3. The device will need to be approved before it can sync with Google Apps, you will see a note on your screen screen and an email explaining that the device first needs to be approved before you can advance to step 4.
  4. Registering Device with server and Confirm Enforcement. The screen shows a list of corporate policy settings attached to your canaryUSA.com account. Press [Enforce].*If you need to change settings, like choosing a PIN for your device, you’ll be notified to make these changes before your device is activated.
  5. The device will activate, and you’ll be taken to the Status screen.
